Who We Are

About Clarenville Coasts
The Clarenville Coasts Regional Tourism Association is the official organization leading tourism development across the Clarenville Coasts region of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our role is simple but vital: to bring people together, grow sustainable tourism, and help our region thrive as a place people are excited to visit and proud to call home.
We work on behalf of a diverse and connected region that stretches from Port Blandford to Southern Harbour, and the many communities in between. Each town contributes its own character, stories, and landscapes. Together, they form a destination defined by rugged coastlines, interior wilderness, and a strong sense of community.
Clarenville Coasts offers something visitors are increasingly searching for but rarely find: experiences that feel wild, raw, and authentic. This is not a curated, polished tourism product. It is a place where nature is unspoiled, where discovery is self-directed, and where travellers feel like they have found somewhere still unknown to the broader world.
The Board has been exploring the region’s unique selling proposition and what makes Clarenville Coasts truly distinct. At the heart of this conversation is the understanding that visitors come here for the rugged beauty, the authenticity of its communities, and the freedom to explore on their own terms. These raw, self-guided, and unfiltered experiences are not only part of the region’s character; they are central to its appeal.
Clarenville Coasts is a destination that invites exploration, rewards curiosity, and leaves a lasting impression precisely because it remains genuine, untamed, and deeply connected to place.
Our Purpose
The Clarenville Coasts Regional Tourism Association exists to bring communities, operators, and visitors together around a shared vision for tourism that is sustainable, authentic, and community-driven. We champion the unique character of our region and work to ensure tourism growth benefits the people and places that make Clarenville Coasts special.
Our Mission
To position Clarenville Coasts as a recognized, year-round tourism hub by 2028 by strengthening operator collaboration, enhancing visitor discovery, and promoting experiences that inspire longer stays, repeat visits, and meaningful economic impact across the region.

Who We Serve
For Visitors, the Clarenville Coasts Regional Tourism Association is a trusted starting point for discovery. Through our digital platforms and promotional efforts, we highlight the region’s food and drink, outdoor adventures, heritage sites, festivals, and seasonal experiences—from skiing and exploring trail networks to kayaking our marine coastlines.
For Tourism Operators, we act as a connector and advocate. Local businesses and organizations can register for a free listing on our digital hub, gaining increased visibility through search engine optimization and targeted marketing to both local and out-of-province audiences. We also support operators through seasonal tourism forums, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborative itinerary development.
Community-Driven Leadership
Tourism in Clarenville Coasts is built by the people who live and work here. The Association is led by a dedicated team of professionals, volunteers, and regional liaisons who work closely with communities and operators to ensure tourism growth reflects local values and long-term sustainability.
More than marketing a destination, we are building relationships—between communities, businesses, and visitors—and helping shape a future where tourism strengthens both our economy and our way of life.
Respect for Land and Heritage
Pjila’si, Atelihai, Tunngasugit, Tshima minu-takushiniekᵘ, Welcome, Bienvenue.
We acknowledge that the land on which we live and gather is within traditional Mi’kmaw territory, and we recognize with respect the histories and cultures of the Beothuk, Mi’kmaq, Innu, and Inuit of Newfoundland and Labrador. As we share the Clarenville Coasts region with visitors, we do so with gratitude, respect for the land, and recognition of the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples.
Together, we are shaping Clarenville Coasts into a destination rooted in connection, culture, and natural wonder—one that invites visitors to stay a while and become part of the story.
We are excited to forge ahead on this new journey with a new identity – Clarenville Coasts! Your path to discovery begins here!
